“What a miserable two days of baseball,” says DePaul University journalism professor and dedicated Cubs’ Dr. Bruce Evensen. Though Evensen roots for the blue and red, his words hold true for both the north and south side. Both teams are down 0-2 and face elimination. The cubs have just over an hour until their last chance gets underway. Sports journalists are getting ready to report on either an unprecedented comeback, or yet another dis-heartening, but sadly characteristic post-season choke. The momentum pendalum is about to swing to the side of the Cubs, or the clock is going to stop all together. “We were the best team in the National League in the marathon, but that goes out the window,” says the Cubs’ Mark DeRosa. “We have to win a sprint now.”
