My previous post brings up the question of if Obama is advertising too much.  The other day while waiting for the El I saw a man with a coffee cup… that said Obama and something along the lines of CNN on the cup sleeve.  I was taken aback, I couldn’t imagine where this guy got a cup like that, but hey, its been said to have worked on Obama’s initial target audience.

Well, in case I’m not the only one who has apparently lived in a box for the past few elections, 7-11 is running their own sort of presidential poll* with every partisan cup of copy purchased.  Apparently it’s pretty accurate.

It isn’t the campaigns advertising, but it is a way for YOU to advertise your vote.

Yeah…I noticed that too. Coffee cup poll from 7-11? Weird.

That is crazy!!!! Seriously though… now that I think about it Obama is everywhere– Ive just become so immune to it all that my conscious self doesnt even realize that I am seeing or eharing about him EVERYWHERE!

I guess it was done for the previous election… make sure to watch the video in the last link.

and yes, Obama is everywhere. Doesn’t seem that odd of an idea for a campaigning style to get your name everywhere… yet this seems to be the first time we’re actually seeing it happen.

I haven’t seen that and am truly amazed. Have you checked the poles yet? I couldn’t find it and was wondering who was winning. Did they have to get approval from candidates etc. to do this? Have any other corporations followed suit?

I found it most bizarre how apparently accurate their campaign has been thus far. They predicted the winners in 2000 and 2004 and I think the results were pretty close the the actual percentages too

    I just checked the results…Obama 59% and McCain 41%.

These results could mean a few things…McCain needs to advertise more, republicans do not purchase enough coffee at 7-11 or McCain is not the favored candidate.

I’m not a fan of the maverick so I hope that the 2008 election results mirror the 7-11 poll.

I wonder about how the population of 7-11 coffee drinkers could be significant representation of the population of US voters to justify a legitimate poll… I can’t wrap my head around this being statistically significant and simply see it as 7-11 trying to get people to buy their coffee.
