I’ve noticed that a lot of my friends love California Pizza Kitchen. Its an American style restaurant, which specializes in…well…pizza! American style pizza! So, what makes it unlike the traditional Italian Pizza? Pizzas like a “bbq chicken pizza” or a “thai chicken pizza”. They’re unlike the norm…but delicious.
When you make your trip to CPK…there are ways to order a healthier meal…let me give you your script:
“I would like a ___________ pizza FOR ONE”
For example: “a Margarita Pizza for one” or “a Sicilian Pizza With Crispy Thin Crust for one”
And you can eat the entire thing! Not a lot of people know you can order a pizza for one person at CPK. They would be happy to make it that way for you. If for some reason, they’re not accommodating (doubt it) eat three pieces instead of the six.
Pizzas to stay away from
Vegetarian Pizza – 1260 calories for the entire pizza
Shrimp Scampi Pizza – 1318 calories for the entire pizza
Pizzas that can be ordered better
Pepperoni Pizza
Sausauge, Pepperoni, and Mushroom Pizza
Ask your server “can I have my pizza made with less meat and DO NOT add extra cheese to substitute the meat, please.”
Some other items that are great to order on the menu and will make your tummy happy:
1 Bowl of Smashed Pea and Barley Soup
1 Bowl of Tortilla Soup
ANY salad…none of the salads at CPK are overly “bad” for you…just ask for the dressing on the side or ask for their fat free balsamic vinaigrette.
