It was a beautiful weekend so naturally I spent it outside! Taking a walk I stumbled upon a new construction project in south Lincoln Park (the actual park). A soccer field is being built — for The Latin School. This turf field, which I would like to point out is the same turf used in university and professional football and soccer arenas, must be costing close to a couple million dollars on city land. There are a number of petitions to stop the building but the city has dismissed them all. It looks like a beautiful field. I’ll find out more and check back. I wonder if it will be able to the public? And if not how will they regulate who uses it?

I am a curious person by nature. Whenever I pass a small store that I’ve never heard of, I want to stop by and check it out.
Additionally, I have always had a fascination with visual art and the artists who create it. When I heard about the class project, I decided to combine my curiosity with my interest in art. Thus, this blog aims to explore Lincoln Park’s art galleries, gift shops, and boutiques.
Not only do I want to discuss the fascinating shops and the artwork that I hope to find, but I want to profile the artists, their stories, and their experiences. Above all, I want to get an idea of what it’s like to be an artist in Lincoln Park, IL.

Hey guys-
I have decided to use my blog as a means to pass along various recent happenings in Lincoln Park. Being close to some peeps that are on the up-and-up with Alderman Vi Daley, I will hopefully be able to get some dirt on what’s going up and down in the ‘hood.
With the number of crimes escalating, Ms. Daley has finally answered the cries of Armitage Avenue residents and put in a blue light camera on the corner of Armitage and Seminary.
For an updated list of crimes, articles, press releases, street closures, etc., all sorted by your address , check out http://chicago.everyblock.com
Until next time!
